Turmeric, honey and lemon face mask to fight acne
Looking good is good business just like people often say. This just goes without a doubt that I am about to upload a skincare regimen or just any kind of routine that I love. Almost all of my years in Cameroon, I have never heard about turmeric or let me say that I was not familiar with it. What I mean is, I didn’t know they was a ginger-like root called turmeric. When I saw ground turmeric for the first time, I thought it was curry powder because I loved the aroma that curry gave, and oh boy, this was my go-to seasoning during my entire 7 years in an all-girls secondary school. So, when I picked up this ground powder which looked like curry powder but smelled differently, I was amazed and wondered what it was. I picked up my phone, and called my mom and aunty back home asking what that ‘yellow thing’ in a bottle was because they had sent me a lot of seasonings from back home. The audio call ended up as a video call, so that they could know exactly what I meant by the thing in the yellow bottle. I was told it was turmeric, and they were both just laughing at me. Being a ‘Madam sceptic’, I told them that I am not sure I would ever use that thing because I do not know it and have never eaten that kind of seasoning before. LOL (laughing out loud). OH LORD! have mercy on me. Please keep in mind that this seasoning had done nothing to me by the time I was unpacking all my goods, and it didn’t even have a foul smell. Maybe it was just my skepticism I guess, but I don’t really know. During all the laughter that was going on, my mom’s asked me what I was cooking. I told them that I was making fried rice. They told me to put about a quarter teaspoon in it. Oh Lord! Not today mommy I said. When they insisted, I told them that my appetite was going to be ruined if I put what I don’t know into the pot. My ‘grammar teacher’ aka Mommy Jane, who happens to be my second mom, asked me if I knew that turmeric is one of the ingredients in curry powder, and that that’s what actually gives curry powder that vibrant yellow color? I was like…… uhmmmmm I do not know mommy. She then said ‘mom bebe’ (French word for my baby), take a curry powder bottle and look at the ingredients. I did and it was true. Oh myyy! I apologized for ‘making girls’ (a slang for being too hard to get). I used it to make my fried rice, and when I tasted it to, it was super delicious, and I love the color that it gave too. From this day, I have been glued to using turmeric in my food, to my face as well. I do not think I will be going back anytime soon.

Turmeric is good at reducing hyper pigmentation on skin. It also helps with wrinkles, and other skin problems like psoriasis and eczema as well. Turmeric is able to reduce excess production of oil on the face, and it unclogs pores.
Honey is good for giving an amazing glow to your body or skin. Its antibacterial and antioxidant as well. That is why putting honey on your face is a must my dear.
Lemon is a good antioxidant as well, and with it being high in Vitamin C, it helps with collagen production and increases the complexion of your skin.
It is worth noting that, this mask fights acne bacteria, it tightens pores, and it gives a glowing skin.
Let me know how this mask worked for you if you decide to do it.
